Utrecht’s Artist of the Month for August is Gentry Gough Gygi.  Here is a bit from her bio:

Gentry Gough Gygi began taking watercolor classes from Harold Petersen in 1993.  While at Highland High she took art from Pat Eddington, and was the Sterling Scholar in Art in 1996.  She has taken pottery from Mark Petersen and has tried her hand at charcoal, pastels, and acrylic.  However, her true love is painting with watercolor.  Attending her art class with her family and learning from “Pete”, is a highlight of her week.  She enjoys painting scenes from places she has visited or that have significance in her life.  She enjoys her life as a wife and mother of three young children.  In her spare time she loves to garden, sew, hike, and create photo books.

Earlier this week we at Utrecht were invited by the Utah Watercolor Society to present demos to their members for their December meeting.  The event was an amazing success.  In addition to Michelle, Theresa, Craig, and myself (Paul), we brought along Nina Deckert and Seth Golden from the Golden Acrylics Company to show how you could use acrylic paints in a watercolor technique.  (Who Knew?)  Below are some pictures of the event:
